Title: Project Manager

Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for providing project management and delivery by partnering with both internal teams and external Vendors in the planning, testing and execution of Hardware and Network projects across the Canadian Home Depot landscape. The Project Manager will also align business and technical teams on on-going projects.  This will include monitoring progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.  The right candidate for this role will have demonstrated experience in multitasking and being a self starter with an independent work style. Success in this position will require a focused approach to day-to-day management of projects which includes but is not limited to timely execution of project tasks, transparent communication, vendor escalations, and collaboration with delivery partners. 

Key Responsibilities:  

Define Project Scope
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility
• Monitor project teams to ensure that they are moving successfully toward project delivery targets and features, which includes but are not limited to Risks, Issues, Blockers and Dashboard reporting. Development & Maintenance of project artifacts as required.
• Developed a detailed project plan and provide project status reporting - use Service Now/Jira/Smartsheet applications
• Track and maintain project financials as it relates to the end to end project delivery
• Create and maintain project documentation and hardware roadmap for Store and Supply Chain

Resource Management
• Facilitate a variety of meetings (stand-ups, working groups, stakeholder meetings, steering committees, workshops, and training sessions, etc.), by preparing content and ensuring actions, decisions, risks and issues are appropriately documented
• Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
• Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring continuous monitoring and transparent communication with stakeholders to minimize risk exposure and maintain project objectives. Additionally, you will develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, maintain comprehensive documentation, and promote risk management awareness within the project team.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management and Communication
• Being able to meticulously track multiple steps/tasks concurrently in project deployment phase with multiple Teams
• Negotiate/create/write statements of work (SOW) with hardware vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
• Maintain relationships with vendors who are responsible for Home Depot hardware support and assist with vendor escalations
     Drive roadmap and project alignment meetings (virtual and onsite) with internal and external teams. Collect feedback from appropriate partners (internal and external) during projects and communicate status updates, changes and impacts.
      Work with Technology and business teams to facilitate business readiness within the organization. Ensures change management plans are developed, socialized and consistently measured to deliver the expected project benefits and adoption
• Document and present project status reports, roadmap changes and schedules, and business impacts with mitigation plans to Stakeholders, Management, and Executive teams

•Excellent client-facing and internal/external communication skills. 
•Ability to manage a diverse workload and ability to track and monitor multiple work activities. Multi-tasking and organization skills are essential
•Strong anayltical  and problem solving skills with the ability to address challenges and resolve issue proactively

Travel Requirements:

• Travel to SSC Toronto on a regular basis
• Required to travel to SSC or THD store site when require during projects and/or deployment

Physical Requirements

• Extended sitting
• Repetitive tasks
• Operating a computer and other technology

Hybrid Work:

• Location Independent

Working Conditions

• Working in an office setting: computer work, camera on virtual meetings
• Working in a retail store enviornment for store walks, user interviews etc.
• Work overnights and weekends on occasion to support system upgrades and on-call support.

Minimum Education:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

• 3 years of relevant work experience in project management role
• 3-5 years retail experience

Minimum Leadership Experience:

None

Certifications:

None

Other Requirements/Assets:

• Strong knowledge of IT hardware e.g., PCs, printers etc. Would be an asset
• Strong knowledge of project management methodology an asset
• Knowledge of IT and store process would be an asset
• PMP certification, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner certification (an asset)
