About the Role:
Receiving Associates play a vital role in ensuring our stores are stocked, organized, and ready for business every day. They work as part of a team to unload merchandise from carriers, verify quantity and quality, and move product throughout the store. This role offers the opportunity to learn new skills, operate powered equipment, and grow within a dynamic retail environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain the receiving area (e.g., remove pallets and cardboard, use compactor and bailer)
- Unload merchandise using designated equipment
- Receive special orders and locate them in the system
- Verify packing slips and shipping documents against purchase orders
- Schedule deliveries and enter information into the receiving system
- Identify and report damaged merchandise
- Ship and receive transferred merchandise following procedures
- Resolve scheduling or delivery issues
- Maintain lift equipment and follow safety protocols
- Move freight to staging areas and communicate with store teams
- Maintain organized overheads and execute pack-down procedures
- Provide excellent customer service when on the sales floor
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Daytime and evening availability is an asset
