About the Role:
As an Order Picker at The Home Depot, you’ll play a key role in supporting our growing online business. You’ll be responsible for picking and organizing products for customer pick-up or delivery, helping ensure a smooth and timely experience. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will directly impact customer satisfaction and operational success.
Position Responsibilities:
- Pick, organize and verify orders for delivery or pick-up
- Utilize appropriate lift truck equipment to prepare customer orders (training provided)
- Support customers at our service desk including answering questions, taking calls, operating the cash register, and processing returns
- Use computer terminals and/or Home Depot portable phone to check inventory, look-up orders, and notify customers when product is ready
- Plan ahead for future deliveries and streamline processes
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Computer skills required to identify product and vendor information
- Previous forklift and/or lift truck experience is an asset but not required
- Time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, customer service and problem solving skills
- Ability to read delivery invoices is an asset
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience with store products is an asset
- Comfortable lifting merchandise to organize for customer pick-up
