The Position

As a key player on the eCommerce experience team, the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager is responsible for building, managing, implementing and optimizing all SEO strategy within Homedepot.ca. The successful candidate will establish and govern best practices and processes and educate and collaborate with cross-functional departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Build, execute and manage strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific
  • Develop, manage, consult and execute communication and content strategies across the organization with a focus on SEO
  • Perform keyword research in coordination with business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with technology and structure of websites and web pages
  • Research and monitor the competitive landscape to optimize existing programs against key competitors and defend critical areas
  • Develop and implement link building campaigns
  • Implement and administer search engine programs (XML sitemaps and webmaster tools)
  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels in order to improve rankings
  • Work with third party vendors to curate keyword rich content in support of optimization and content strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate web analytics dashboards and reports in order to develop and recommend SEO strategies
  • Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results
Experience / Knowledge Required:
  • Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets expectation, consistently demonstrates).
  • 5+ years experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • 3+ years leading a team
  • Strong understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) process, tactics and strategy
  • Experience working with popular SEO Research Tools (Conductor, BrightEdge, Google Adwords, Ahrefs, Botify, Screaming Frog etc)
  • Experience working with a CMS and building/administering content in multiple CMS environments
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administration
  • High-level proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Adobe and Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools
  • BS/BA degree required
