Transportation Analyst

Position Overview:

This position will oversee the intermodal daily operations for the Canadian transportation network for Non-Merch Operation. This includes providing the tools, analysis and reports necessary to assist the Manger, Project Operations with visibility as well as to support our distribution network. The Transportation Analyst will contribute to forecasting transport volumes, data entry, transport planning and load productivity whilst maintaining the carrier relationship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relevant reports and applications such as carrier scorecards, Freight Cost of Goods reports and Carrier invoicing reports.
  • Ensure invoices are reviewed and checked for accuracy within three working days of receipt, whilst maintaining a record of all invoices submitted to provide a summary at month end.
  • Establish a quality repository of historic lane volume, cost and load productivity data.
  • Is actively involved with carriers, vendors and stores for ongoing operational issues, changes and future needs and recommends/develops solutions that align with corporate objectives.
  • Manage calls and email correspondence from both external and internal stakeholders and resolve or refer them as appropriate.
  • Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data modelling, data analysis, and cost/benefit analysis while executing day-to-day processes related to the area of responsibility.
