The Senior SEO Analyst supports The Home Depot Canada’s SEO vision by executing data-driven technical SEO initiatives that improve site health, organic visibility, and customer experience. Reporting to the Technical SEO Lead, this role focuses on technical site performance, SEO data analysis, and cross-functional implementation to drive measurable improvements in organic traffic and conversion.

This position combines analytical rigour, technical curiosity, and executional excellence to strengthen SEO foundations across ecommerce, local, and content portfolios. The Senior Analyst contributes to large-scale data and tooling initiatives (e.g., BigQuery, BrightEdge API, GSC bulk exports) and helps operationalize SEO insights for day-to-day optimization and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

SEO Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Design, maintain, and enhance SEO dashboards and reporting pipelines in Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, Tableau, and other analytics platforms.
  • Monitor and interpret SEO KPIs such as crawl health, indexation, click-through rate, keyword visibility, and page performance to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Support automation of data feeds and reports via APIs, working with IT and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct ad hoc deep dives on traffic fluctuations, ranking changes, and site performance to inform recommendations.
  • Partner with the Technical SEO Lead to evolve data infrastructure for improved insight generation.

Technical SEO Execution

  • Conduct in-depth technical site audits on complex environments (e.g., JavaScript rendering, internationalization, site migrations) using tools such as Botify, Screaming Frog, BrightEdge, and Google Search Console.
  • Perform detailed log file analysis to identify crawl budget opportunities and indexing issues.
  • Support implementation of technical recommendations related to page speed, crawlability, structured data, canonicalization, and internal linking.
  • Participate in QA testing of new templates, redirects, metadata rollouts, and URL structures, including the design and management of complex redirection plans.

SEO Strategy Support

  • Translate high-level SEO strategy from the Lead into actionable analysis and execution tasks.
  • Perform keyword and content gap research to identify opportunities for new or improved pages.
  • Collaborate with Content and Merchandising teams to align on-page optimization with business goals.
  • Provide data-backed insights that support roadmap prioritization and performance tracking.
  • Apply Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to identify content optimization and internal linking opportunities.
  • Contribute to the integration of LLM/AI into SEO methodologies to optimize strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with analytics, marketing, and product teams to align SEO metrics with broader KPIs.
  • Support documentation, process mapping, and knowledge sharing across the Earned Media and IT teams.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, technical reviews, and team stand-ups to represent SEO requirements.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience with SQL Google BigQuery, and Python for data analysis, automation, and API integration.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker Studio).
  • Proficiency with SEO platforms: Google Search Console, BrightEdge, Botify, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of with HTML, CSS, JavaScript rendering, and site architecture concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
  • Understanding of modern SEO practices across technical, on-page, and local SEO.
  • Intermediate Excel and presentation skills (data visualization, storytelling).
  • Exposure to A/B testing and tag management tools (Adobe Launch, GTM) a plus.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced digital environment.

Travel Requirements:

Limited.

In-office presence required at the Toronto Store Support Centre (Monday to Thursday).

Physical Requirements:

Extended sitting, computer work, participation in virtual meetings.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with extensive collaboration across Digital, Marketing, and Technology teams.

Minimum Education:

University/College degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

2–3 years of hands-on experience in SEO (technical or analytical focus preferred).

Experience in ecommerce or large-scale websites an asset.

Certifications (Preferred):

Google Analytics Certification

BrightEdge, Botify, or similar SEO tool certification

SQL or Tableau certification an asset

Other Requirements / Assets:

  • Passion for technical SEO and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability for quality execution.
  • Familiarity with CMS environments (Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, or equivalent).
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset.

The pay range for this position is between $62,200.00 - $70,100.00
