The Senior Analyst, Pricing supports The Home Depot’s Merchandising organization by executing analytical work, generating insights, and contributing to pricing strategy for a defined portfolio of departments. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Pricing this role provides the data, analytics, and operational support needed to optimize pricing decisions that drive sales, margin, and market competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Pricing Analysis & Execution

  • Conduct detailed analysis of competitive price positioning, elasticity, promotional effectiveness, and category performance.
  • Support the implementation of pricing actions across everyday retail, promotions, markdowns, and regional strategies.
  • Maintain and update pricing models, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Monitor pricing KPIs such as margin rate, price perception benchmarks, competitive gaps, and unit performance.

Insights & Reporting

  • Translate data into actionable insights that support strategy development for assigned departments.
  • Build recurring and ad-hoc reports to track the impact of pricing decisions.
  • Identify trends and opportunities that improve customer value and financial outcomes.
  • Communicate insights clearly to the Lead, Pricing Strategy and cross-functional partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Merchants, Finance, and Pricing Operations to ensure accurate and timely execution of pricing actions.

Process Support & Governance

  • Validate pricing data to maintain accuracy across systems and channels.
  • Support the enhancement of pricing processes, tools, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure pricing actions adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and strategic pricing guidelines.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience analyzing large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel and analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex data and insights in a clear, structured way.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional retail environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other query/analytics languages.
  • Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, consulting, or pricing/financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with pricing strategy concepts including elasticity, competitive price checks, and promotional analysis.

Impact of the Role

The Senior Analyst, Pricing plays a critical role in ensuring The Home Depot maintains strong price positioning and delivers value to customers while supporting category financial targets. By providing rigorous analytics and accurate execution support, this role enables the Pricing Team —and the broader Merchandising teams—to make informed, strategic pricing decisions.
