The Lead, Pricing is responsible for setting and executing pricing strategy across a defined portfolio of merchandising departments, while leading and developing a team of analysts. This role blends strategic pricing leadership, advanced analytics, and people management to drive sales growth, margin optimization, and competitive advantage—while upholding The Home Depot’s commitment to value and customer experience.

The Lead partners closely with Merchandising, Finance, and Analytics, acting as both a strategic advisor and people leader who translates insights into action and builds strong pricing capabilities across the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Accountable for managing the team on all personnel issues, including coaching, development, and performance appraisals.
  • Ensure the team's accuracy, timeliness, advocacy of best practices, and viability of recommendations.
  • Assist in leading special projects and ad-hoc assignments as required.

Pricing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and lead pricing strategies for an assigned portfolio of departments across everyday retail, promotions, clearance, and regional pricing.
  • Perform comprehensive competitive analyses, elasticity modeling, and category assessments to inform pricing recommendations.
  • Monitor price positioning and category performance to identify risks and opportunities, adjusting strategies accordingly.
  • Partner with SLT, Merchants, and Finance to align on pricing actions that support financial goals and category strategies.

Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze large datasets to assess the impact of pricing decisions on sales, margin, and unit movement.
  • Provide actionable insights that guide category planning, promotional calendars, and seasonal pricing strategies.
  • Leverage enterprise pricing tools and BI platforms to enhance decision-making.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the pricing point of contact for assigned departments, influencing decisions at various organizational levels.
  • Collaborate closely with Merchants to prioritize pricing opportunities aligned with business goals.
  • Present pricing strategies and performance results to leadership and stakeholder groups.

Process Optimization & Governance

  • Provide thought leadership and recommendations for identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Support governance by ensuring pricing actions comply with corporate policies, legal requirements, and customer value principles.

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing, merchandising, finance, strategy, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including experience working with large datasets.
  • High proficiency in Excel and pricing/analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL-based environments).
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of retail or consumer-based pricing.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree (MBA or analytics-focused).
  • Experience in home improvement, retail, or e‑commerce industries.
  • Understanding of machine-learning-based price optimization tools.
  • Financial modeling experience with proven ability to assess pricing tradeoffs.

Travel Requirements
Travel in the GTA is required to visit stores and the Innovation center. Travel outside of the SSC is expected weekly, and normally on Thursdays.

There may be minimal travel required to Atlanta (i.e. development training, PLRs)
