Position Purpose
    
The Delivery Operations function is an area of high-growth and exciting customer delivery enhancements at The Home Depot.  With outstanding growth as an organization, Home Depot is a leader in the home delivery business.  As such, this downstream delivery area is a function that will be in a mode of significant and rapid change over the next few years.    
The Manager Delivery Operations will lead the operations team to ensure the best possible deliver-from-store experience for our customers and have a strong dotted line responsibility for delivery coordinators based in Mississauga and Edmonton FDC’s and Moncton. The Manager Delivery Operations will use sound analytical and continuous improvement methodologies to understand metrics and help enable change.  The position will support stores for all customer-facing deliveries including: flatbed from both stores and FDC’s, car and van deliveries from store, Supported by the delivery operations team, the Manager Delivery Operations will play an integral role to drive a customer delivery experience that will be considered one of the best in Canada.
Responsibilities:
•    Execution of all modes of downstream deliveries from our stores and FDC’s – including flatbed/Moffett, car/van, carry-in and express deliveries 
•    Scope – all 182 stores across Canada providing delivery service 6 days a week, two FDC’s and and delivery coordinators based in Atlantic Canada
•    Manage P&L spend of $60M and ensure cost per delivery within plan throughout the year
•    Proactively plan for seasonal demands and make adjustments to capacity accordingly
•    Lead delivery operations team of 7 and dotted line support to 5 FDC delivery coordinators and 2 store-to-home based in Atlantic Canada
•    Maintain open regular communication with store leadership team including store Managers, TOM’s, DM’s, RDO’s, store operations and VP’s as required
•    Partner with other functional areas in Supply Chain, IT and store operations to ensure ongoing success of deliveries.
•    Manage service provider relationships (carriers) at day-to-day tactical level to ensure best possible service levels are maintained while also planning and aligning capacity needs well in advance of peak season

Experience / Knowledge Required:
•    Internal Candidates: Must fulfil minimum time-in-position (2 Years)
•    5-10 years of store experience in progressive leadership roles 
•    3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain would be an asset
•    Passionate about customer service, able to multi-task and handle competing demands while operating with a sense of urgency
•    Experience with Distribution, Transportation or a Home Delivery related field a definite asset
•    Proficient in: COM, Microsoft Office Suite. SAP knowledge a definite asset 
•    Clarifies and resolves complex business issues by breaking them down into meaningful components to determine best resolution and designs internal and external business processes to support
•    Able to lead with ambiguity
•    Maturity in a dynamic, changing environment and ability to go above & beyond to serve our stores and customers
•    Strong relationship builder and has the ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization and external stakeholders
•    Ability to travel within Canada 30-40%
