Job Description

The Business Analyst is responsible for information gathering and documentation for mobile app, website and retail channel enhancements and maintenance. One of the key contacts for the Home Depot mobile app related development and integration work with internal and external teams, the individual will work closely with end users, business units, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to utilize mobile app and web-based technologies. In addition, the individual will look to improve business processes and support critical business strategies with strategic guidance of the Ecommerce Product Management Team. The Business Analyst will work closely with Project teams and support various stages of the development life-cycle. Tasks assigned to this role require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution. The individual must have experience working with various teams within the product development process (UX, Research, IT, 3rd party partners) to drive business objectives forward.

                                                                                                                                     

                                                                                                                                      

Key Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                             

  • Defines and documents customer business functions and processes. Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Consults with internal and external teams to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
  • Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants and other third party vendors in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of projects to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users. Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for end users and for use in training.
  • Collects and prepares information and reports using analytics, industry / competitive research and trends. Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in Product Management decision-making.
  • Participates in test case definition and user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality. Develops training curriculum and conducts formal training sessions covering assigned systems module.

Skills:                                                                                                                                           

  • Preferred candidate will have experience in the following: mobile app technologies (Android and iOS), app store optimization, agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of ecommerce technologies and web development
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Project and change management
  • Strong Documentation and Communication skills required (Business Requirements Docs, Use Case development, Business process diagraming, Facilitating information gathering sessions)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, operate under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent skills with MS Office, MS Project & Visio or any otherWeb-based diagramming software

Minimum Education:                                                                                                                                           

  • University/College degree in a related area of study, or equivalent experience.                                                                                                              

Minimum Years of Work Experience:                                                                                                              

  • 3 years experience as a Business Analyst in product, project or change management                                                                                                                                                      

Minimum Leadership Experience:

  • No leadership experience necessary
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset                                                                                                                      

Certifications:                                                                                                                                          

  • CSPO an asset

                                                                                                                                                     

Other Requirements/Assets:                                                                                                                                             

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (eg: Firebase, Google Analytics, Tableau, Adobe) an asset
