250640BR Retail Store Opportunities Full-Time

The Delivery Service Driver role is to deliver rental equipment to our customers while operating trailer. Loading and unloading rental equipment and provide basic operational training on the proper and appropriate use to end user. Additionally, the DST is responsible for verifying the equipment is operational prior to and after each delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Operation of Trucks and Trailers 80%
    • Operate trucks and trailers for local deliveries and pick-ups of large rental equipment, to and from stores and/or customer jobsites.
    • Loads and unloads equipment on trailer, including proper securing and tie-down of equipment.
    • Utilizes company technology platform to document all work performed; Completes proper check-in and check-out procedures for equipment at store/ Rental locations.
    • Accurately follows entire rental process, including obtaining required signatures on rental contracts.
    • Assists with deployment of new equipment to store locations, auction sites, delivering to the store.
    • Performs daily pre trip/post trip inspections on company assets.
  2. Customer Service 15%
    • Learns and demonstrates high quality customer service standards for delivery service.
    • Maintains professionalism in appearance, dress, personal conduct and provide a positive company image.
    • Train/demonstrates correct and safe operation of equipment to customers and associates.
  3. Other 5%
    • Remains current on local licensing, assigned training, Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and safety requirements.
    • Maintain Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certifications. (Training is provided by Home Depot)
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Rental Manager (RRM), Branch Manager, Field Operations Rental Manager, or authorized personnel

Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Rental Manager (RRM), Branch Manager, Field Operations Rental Manager, or authorized personnel. May require overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid G Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively with different personality types and all levels of associates.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Working knowledge of handheld technology (smartphone, laptop, tablet, applications).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/Ministry guidelines.
  • Strong Work Ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in equipment rental industry (mechanical, driving, customer service, etc.)
  • Working understanding of safe load securement, tie downs, and transport.
  • Ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances, including weather and traffic.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, troubleshoot and draw valid conclusions
  • Basic knowledge of compact construction equipment, including trenching and earthmoving machinary.
