The Position

The Business Analyst will contribute to the day-to-day organizational planning processes and support the supply chain network with risk mitigation initiatives to improve DC productivity and frictionless flow during peak periods. The Business Analyst will review and understand capacity / supply chain operational data, and work with cross functional partners to resolve problems. As a subject matter expert in Supply Chain principles, the Business Analyst will participate in and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives. The Business Analyst will also be expected to deliver complex analytics to support business objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads change by example and drives project team work through ambiguity of new processes and systems
  • Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, manipulate, and manage large amounts of data specific to problem solving and trend analysis reporting
  • Develop, improve and/or maintain forecasting models
  • Partner with Transportation, Distribution, and Inventory Planning teams for continuous improvement opportunities that improve productivity and mitigate capacity risks across the supply chain
  • Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, problem analysis while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility
  • Evaluate existing reporting and analytic tools, identify opportunities, and implement changes
  • Track key performance indicators on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Facilitate discussion with cross functional partners to generate solution ideas
  • Support the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs


Experience / Knowledge Required:

  • Must fill minimum time-in-position and performance management code requirement of M+
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent degree in a field of study (e.g. Industrial Engineering) related to the positions would be considered an asset
  • 3-5 years of analytical experience (ideally in a retail environment) with emphasis on process improvement, replenishment, project management, change management and data analysis
  • Experience with Six Sigma or other Process Improvement Methodology
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visual Basic, SQL, Word and Visio
  • Knowledge of SAP, Alteryx, and Tableau would be a definite asset
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extrapolate pertinent information from various sources (reports and spreadsheets) and analyze data for recommendations
  • Writes, speaks, and presents clearly and succinctly across a variety of communication settings and adjusts communication style to the audience by translating and articulating technical concepts to non-technical groups
  • Detail and task oriented, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
